#SelfieBuddy is a wooden camera that captured and uploaded animated GIF files to Twitter. Photos were visible only on Twitter after they had been uploaded, this removed the opportunity for users to self-edit or retake the photo. The GIFS became surprises for gallery visitors, eliciting their nostalgia of waiting for Polaroid film to develop while they anxiously reloaded Twitter for their selfie to appear on social media.
